KHYBER: A soldier martyred, four injured in Malagori clash, while two terrorists arrested alive in hours-long gun clash in Murad Dand Molagori area of Khyber tribal district, sources said on Saturday.
According to sources, Naik Rehmatullah embraced martyrdom during the clash. The injured include Sepoy Abdullah, Lance Naik Naushad, Lance Naik Parvez and Sepoy Sajjad, one of whom is stated to be in critical condition. All the wounded were shifted to nearby medical facilities, where they were receiving treatment.
Security forces, in a swift and effective response, arrested two terrorists alive during the operation. Clearance, search and combing operations were continued in the area to eliminate any remaining threats and restore complete peace.
Security officials said the situation was under control, and steps have been intensified to secure the area.
Following the incident, a large number of local tribesmen, particularly from the Malagori tribe, came out and announced full support for peace and stability.
Tribal elders stated that they would not tolerate militancy in their area and would not allow terrorists to operate or take refuge there, reaffirming their cooperation with security forces for lasting peace.
Security has been further tightened in the area, while joint efforts by the public and security forces were underway to maintain law and order. The local community paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifice of martyred Naik Rehmatullah and prayed for the early recovery of the injured personnel.
