LANDIKOTAL: Tribal Electricity Supply Company(Tesco) officials on Wednesday said district Headquarters hospital and Frontier Corps(FC) offices in Landikotal Khyber Rifles Garrison failed to pay their electricity arrears as they had cut off their electricity supply lines on the directives of high-ups.
Speaking to a press conference here in Landikotal press club Tribal electricity supply company(Tesco) officials Abid Khan and Ashraf Shinwari said that they have served several notices to the Frontier Corps(FC) commandant in Landikotal and Medical Superintendent(MS) of Landikotal headquarters hospital to pay their electricity arrears. They said they also met with the FC and hospital administration officials but to no avail. He said they have recovered a sum of the amount from the rest of the government departments in Landikotal which was not enough to overcome the burden of salaries and other official requirements.
Abid Khan said DHQ Landikotal Hospital had to pay Rs,145 million while commandant Khyber Rifles Rs,81.8 million in terms of Tesco electricity arrears.
He said the last payment notice was served to the government’s above departments on March 18, on which they replied to Tesco saying that they had no funds in terms of electricity head to pay the electricity dues.
Abid said Tesco officials had directed them to cut off supply lines to DHQ hospital and Khyber Rifles cantt in Landikotal if they failed to pay the arrears within a few days.
