LANDIKOTAL: A coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Assistant Commissioner, Landikotal, to finalize preparations for the Measles and Rubella Immunization campaign 2025, which would run from November 17 to 29, officials said on Wednesday.

The meeting, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Afrasiab Zubair, was attended by senior officials of the health department, local religious scholars, clerics, madrassa administrators and community leaders. The focus of the discussion was to raise public awareness about the importance of vaccination and ensure maximum participation in the campaign.

The assistant commissioner stressed the critical role of religious leaders in educating parents about the benefits of immunization. He urged them to include messages about child health and preventive vaccination in their sermons and lectures to encourage parents to vaccinate their children against measles and rubella.

He also instructed the health department to work in close coordination with the local administration, tribal elders and community organizations to guarantee the successful implementation of the campaign and achieve maximum vaccination coverage.

Officials and participants highlighted the need for active community engagement, timely monitoring and effective communication strategies to make the campaign a success. They committed to a joint effort to protect children from preventable diseases and strengthen public health initiatives in the region.

The campaign aims to reach all children in Landikotal, ensuring that every child receives the measles and rubella vaccines and promoting a healthier, disease-free community.
