KP Government Allocates PKR 4 Billion for Rehabilitation of Tirah Valley Affected Families

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has allocated a total of PKR 4 billion for the rehabilitation and facilitation of families affected by displacement in Tirah Valley, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability, and timely assistance.

According to Shafee Jan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information, as of January 31, 2026, an amount of PKR 920 million has already been spent on transportation and food expenses incurred during the relocation of the affected families. He said a complete and auditable record of all expenditures has been prepared.

The Special Assistant stated that the record includes verification by the district administration and local elders, signatures of beneficiaries, and details of their national identity cards, ensuring there is no room for irregularities.

He further said that PKR 2.4 billion has been allocated under a relief compensation and a monthly support package. This assistance will be provided digitally to the affected families after registration and verification through NADRA.

Shafee Jan clarified that the relief funds will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, with strict monitoring mechanisms in place to ensure full transparency in the disbursement process.

He added that the provincial government has implemented a robust monitoring system to safeguard public resources and continues to take concrete measures to prevent corruption and promote transparent governance.
