PESHAWAR: Unknown terrorists blew up the house of journalist and social activist Miraj Khalid in Azam Warsak of South Waziristan on Saturday using explosive material.
According to police, the inmates had vacated the house earlier, and terrorists had planted explosives to destroy it.
Miraj Khalid, while talking to the media, strongly condemned the incident, saying that his house was targeted without any reason. He said some circles had accused him of giving his house for the temporary deployment of security forces, but “this claim is completely false and baseless.”
Police said that an investigation is underway and those involved will be brought to justice soon. Initial evidence has been collected, and multiple angles are being examined.
Political and social circles have termed the incident alarming and demanded enhanced security for journalists across the merged districts and social workers, as well as justice for Miraj Khalid.
