TORONTO: Former ARY anchor and journalist Arshad Sharif has been shot and killed in Kenya, African news said on Sunday.
According to African media, Pakistani Journalist and Former ARY anchor Arshad Sharif has been shot dead in Kenya.
The reason behind his death was yet to be known. ARY reported that Arshad Sharif was killed in a road accident. Some journalists, however, said Sharif was shot dead.
Arshad had moved to the UAE and then Kanya after finding it hostile in Pakistan after the ouster of Imran Khan from the government.
Hundreds of people including journalists took to social media to express grief and anger over the murder of Arshad Sharif who had escaped from Pakistan a few months ago.
He was recently seen in the trailer for a documentary titled “Behind Closed Doors”.
The documentary about corruption was propagated by some people as a Netflix project, a claim that was denied by the streaming giant.
