KHYBER: Celebrating the Independence and Maira-e-Haq week-long celebrations, The Dawn Harvard school system in Shahkas, district Khyber, organized a flag hoisting event on Sunday.
The Harvard school system, run by Darul Uloom Islamiya Al-Farooqia Shakas, not only provides free schooling, a hostel, and food to deserving students but also teaches an Islamic syllabus up to seven Darjaa (grades) by experienced staff members, including religious scholars.
The ceremony was attended by students, teachers and local dignitaries including journists.
Chairman Board of Governors, Harvard System, Professor Dr.Noor-ul-Iman was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his address, Dr. Noor-ul-Iman said that just as the Pakistan Army had defeated the country’s eternal enemy, India and secured an unshakable defence position at the global level. He added that citizens, especially the younger generation, must also excel in the fields of science, technology and economy. He said that this year’s Independence Day carries unique significance as the nation celebrates both freedom and victory against its core rival.
The students participated in national songs and quiz competitions, highlighting the history of Pakistan. The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners, appreciating their performance and patriotic enthusiasm.
At the end, the director of The Dawn Harvard School System, Dr Syed Hafeez Ahmad, expressed gratitude to all participants and guests for their active involvement in making he country peaceful and prosperous.
