Cops Dismissed, Demoted In Khyber

LANDIKOTAL: District Police officer dismissed eight police officers from their duty while one was demoted in extortion and corruption cases, officials said on Thursday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Salim Abbas Kalachi told The News that they had initiated departmental inquiries against several police officers a few months ago. He said after inquiries and proof collected against the police department employees, eight were dismissed from their duties while one was demoted to a lower rank.
The DPO said assistant sub-inspector Muhammad Arif Afridi was demoted to Head Constable (HC) rank. He said the decision was taken based on the complaints and evidence of extortion, collecting illegal money from trucks on the Karkhano-Torkham road and absence from duty.

Those dismissed included Constable Adnan, constable Asif Afridi, constable Wahaj, constable Shahab Uddin, constable Musharaf,
constable Gul Nawab, constable Masaood, constable, Sabir Rehman,
Constable Allah Noor, Constable Gu Amin, Constable Abdul Khaliq, and Constable Itehad
