Crona screening teams deployed at Afghan border

TORKHAM BORDER: After several suspected Crona Virus cases reported in Afghanistan, the Pakistani border authorities deployed health teams at Torkham border to screen all passengers and vehicles coming from Afghanistan, officials said on Wednesday.

Assistant commissioner of Landikotal Muhammad Imran told this scribe that taking safety measures they on the directives installed a 21 members health team at Torkham border ponts. He said they have deployed health screening workers separetly for women, male and truck crew members coming from Afghanistan.

He said in district Khyber all entry points they have deployed health workers for screening of Crona virus.
Imran said they check around 7,000 persons every day. He added that yet no crona case diagnosed at Torkham border.

“We have established isolation ward at the Torkham border where imbulance and health staff is stand by to provide medical care in any patient with crona virus cross the border”,said the official.
He said the Torkham border was operational as usual and smoothly pedastrians and transports were running from and to Afghanistan.
