LANDIKOTAL: The Christian community members observed a protest demonstration in Landikotal bazaar on Sunday to observe the 11th August Minority Day as a Black Day.

Christian Community Chairman Malik Arshad Masih led the protest. It was also attended by Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari, Shakeel Masih, Rashid Masih and other elders and children from the Christian community.

They held black flags and placards inscribed with their demands and chanted slogans.

Arshad Masih while speaking on the occasion criticized the government for not releasing funds for their land in Landikotal. He said they had struggling for funds for the cemetery, church and skill centre for a long but yet not released funds for it.

Arshad said they the minorities living in Landikotal were deprived of other basic rights.

The Christian community elders warned that if the government did not address their genuine demands and grant them their rights, they would be compelled to stage a protest sit-in outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly and Parliament House in Islamabad.

Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari urged the government to provide the Christian community with their rightful entitlements, allocate necessary funds, and address their legitimate demands to alleviate their difficulties.
