LANDIKOTAL: The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad, on Tuesday reaffirmed his commitment against social evils and said that a comprehensive and strong strategy has been finalized to take decisive action against major dealers and smugglers of ice (crystal meth) and heroin in the district Khyber.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media during his visit to Landikotal. He inspected different police offices and police stations. He talked to police jawans and officers deployed on various checkposts and asked about their duties and challenges.
DPO Khyber Waqar Ahmed, assistant commissioner of Landikotal and the SHO of Landikotal police station received him in Landikotal.
DPO Khyber Waqar Ahmad briefed him about the current law and order situation, policing strategies, operational achievements and ongoing actions against criminal elements in Khyber.
CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed also inaugurated the newly established police station and the DRC (Dispute Resolution Council) Center in Landikotal.
The CCPO inspected Jamrud, Ali Masjid and Landikotal police stations, where he examined the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) office, ongoing construction work, daily diary registers, official records, lock-ups, CCTV surveillance systems and the malkhana (case property room).

At Ali Masjid police station, the CCPO met with complainants, listened to their concerns and directed police officials to ensure timely and effective redressal of public grievances.
Later, during a meeting with local elders and notables at Landikotal police station, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation and improving the overall security environment.

CCPO said that confronting terrorism and other adverse challenges with resilience was a hallmark of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. He commended the officers and personnel of Khyber district police for their bravery, professionalism and dedication, stating that they have set new standards in proactive policing.
Mian Saeed said that local elders have always played a vital role in maintaining peace and stability in District Khyber. He added that the residents’ continued cooperation with law enforcement remained crucial. He assured that the shortages of resources faced by the Landikotal police would soon be addressed to further strengthen operational capacity.
Mian Saeed stated that in the remote areas of district Khyber, where drug dens and smuggling networks were operative and damaging the country’s image, would not be tolerated. He said joint operations would be conducted in coordination with FC North and other security agencies in far-flung areas of District Khyber.
He emphasized that authorities were determined to eliminate narcotics from the region and would take strict action against those involved.
Dr. Mian Saeed appreciated the performance and efforts of the Khyber police in the fight against terrorism and drugs, noting that the force has delivered commendable results despite limited resources.
He further praised their courage and reaffirmed that no sacrifice would be spared in the ongoing fight against anti-state elements. The CCPO also urged officers to make policing more effective while respecting local traditions and customs to ensure lasting peace in the region.
