PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested two suicide bombers from the Matni locality of ​​Peshawar on Friday.

Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) operations CTD Najam Hussain Liaquat said in a press conference that the suicide bomber arrested from the Matni area has been identified as Adil Khan.

He said that on the identification of the arrested terrorist, his other accomplice identified as Tahir has also been arrested from Achini.

Najam Hussain said the arrested terrorists belonged to the Khorasan group of Daesh(ISIS).

He said the terrorists had admitted in the first interrogation that they had intended to target Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur Rehman and Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan, the grandson of Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan and son of Asfandyar Wali Khan.
He said they were working on it to reach out to more suspects, handlers and facilitators.
