Police seize drugs at Torkham

LANDIKOTAL: The Landikotal police have successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics and drugs and arrested an Afghan national on Saturday.

Station House Officer Adnan Afridi and additional station house officer Azmat Wali told this scribe that on the directives of district police officer Rai Mazhar Iqbal anti-drug operations have been intensified in Landikotal and Torkham border localities. They said a suspect was searched at the Torkham and recovered 1150 tablets being used as drugs.

The arrested individual, identified as Abdullah son of Muhammadullah from Afghanistan, was taken into custody. During preliminary interrogation, Abdullah confessed to smuggling the tablets from Afghanistan into Pakistan. He admitted that these drugs were intended for distribution in various parts of the country, including educational institutions and among students.

The police officers said they have initiated further investigation to uncover the full extent of the smuggling network and ensure that those involved are held accountable
