TORKHAM: Frontier Corps(North) and customs authorities at the Torkham border jointly foiled a bid to smuggle arms from Afghanistan, officials said on Sunday.
An official said during routine checking they stopped two coal-loaded heavy trucks(KBL-2482) and (KBL-9154) and recovered three M16 Rifles, two Brita pistols,4000 AK-47 rounds, AK-47 Bolts, 40 springs,5 pistol magazines and 9MM 8000 rounds.
The arms were concealed under the coal.
The official said they arrested driver Hazrat Halal and Siyal Gul and seized the trucks. Custom authority filed a case and started further investigation.
