SADDA: Tribal clashes have resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people and left seven others injured in the Kunj Alizai area of Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources reported on Saturday.

According to sources, the shooting took place in the Kunj Alizai mountains near the Pak-Afghan border and along nearby roads. Among the victims are fifteen individuals, including two women and a child. Seven others sustained injuries, with concerns that the death toll could rise.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding these incidents, which have escalated tensions across the district. The conflict reportedly began when one tribe launched an attack against the other tribe.

Efforts are underway to secure travel routes in the district and restore normalcy to affected areas.

Last month, similar clashes over a land dispute between Shia and Sunni tribes resulted in at least 46 fatalities and 91 injuries. Despite coexisting peacefully in many parts of the country, historical tensions between these groups persist, particularly in Kurram where Shia communities are predominant in certain areas.
