Two Fierce Gun Fighting Take Place Between Troops, Militants

PESHAWAR: Two fierce encounters took place between troops and the terrorists in North and South Waziristan districts, leaving many dead and injured, sources said.

The official sources said that the first engagement occurred in the general area of Asman Munza, South Waziristan District, where troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which one terrorist was killed, while one another got injured.

However, during the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Sajid Azam (age 31 years, resident of Kotli, Azad Kashmir) fought gallantly killed in the incident.

In another intense fire exchange between own troops and terrorists in the general area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan District; one terrorist was killed whereas a Sepoy Waris Khan (age 27 years, resident of District Karak) paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost his life.

Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any militants found in the area, officials said.

Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, he said.
