Two die in Landikotal incidents

LANDIKOTAL: Unknown gunmen shot dead an Afghan national inside a Barbershop in Torkham and fled from the scene, police said on Saturday.

Police officer Turab Khan said that one Yaqoot son of Rehmat, a resident of Afghanistan was in a barber shop in Torkham border town when gunmen intruded into the shop and killed him on the spot. Police said the slain Afghan national was currently residing in Torkham and working as a daily wager. Police later handed over the body to the relatives to bury in Afghanistan. Police kicked off the investigation to reach the hands behind the crime.


Meanwhile, a truck driver died while another sustained injuries when a heavy trailer truck and other vehicles collided near the Michni check post in Landikotal. Rescue workers rescued the injured person and rushed him to Landikotal headquarters hospital. Transporters and traders alleged that due to police at the Michni checkpost road accidents happen every day. They said that police stopped trucks at the Michni checkpost to take black money from them causing traffic accidents.
