TANK: The President of the District Press Club Upper South Waziristan has issued a 24-hour ultimatum for the safe recovery of journalist Inaamullah Mahsud, who was abducted by unidentified individuals two days ago.
Addressing a press conference, the District Press Club Upper South Waziristan President Malik Hayatullah Mahsud warned that if Inaamullah is not recovered and an FIR is not registered within the deadline, a protest movement will be launched across the district.
He criticized the failure of security agencies, noting that a journalist was kidnapped from a sensitive area in Tank without any response from law enforcement. “If the state cannot protect journalists, it should declare so openly,” he said.
A peaceful protest is planned for Tuesday, from the District Press Club to Tank Traffic Chowk. Journalists, lawyers, traders, and tribal elders have been invited to join.
Hayatullah Mahsud stated that all legal avenues will be pursued for the journalist’s recovery, and if needed, the protest will be expanded to provincial and national levels.

Inaamullah Mahsud, a well-known journalist from the tribal areas and an active member of the Tribal Union of Journalists, was abducted two days ago at night by unidentified armed men from his residence in Tank city.
