LANDIKOTAL: The first Ramadan is being observed in the tribal regions and Khyber Pakhtukhwa after the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan committee headed by Mufti Shahabuddin Populzai announced the first Ramadan today on (Monday).
According to a responsible persons of the Khanqa-e-Benoria Ashkhel, Muhammad Ibraheem, they have announced first Ramadan on Monday because they were in close contact with the other Islamic scholars in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar regions.
According to Masjid Qasim Ali Khan committee they had received some 22 persons who had seen the moon crescent at various locations of Peshawar and merged tribal regions.
After the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan announced the first Ramadan, the local masjid’s Ulema also announced the first Ramadan in Landikotal and other tribal districts on Monday.
The government committee for moon sightning has announced the first Ramadan on Tuesday(7th May,) after the government committee heading by Mufti Muneeb ur Rahman said in a statement that no one had seen the moon in Pakistan and the first Ramadan will be on Tuesday, 7th May,2019.
The local people, civil and political parties leaders had criticized the government committee which wrongly announced the starting of the holy month of Ramdan.
