Senator Inspects BISP Centers in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid on Thursday said that government was committed to empowering women through financial assistance and skill development.

She stated that the Benazir Hunarmand Program was in its final stages and would help women gain financial independence, allowing them to contribute to the country’s economy.

Rubina Khalid expressed it during her visit to the BISP center in Landikotal tehsil, interacted with beneficiaries and listened to their concerns. She assured them that steps would be taken to address their grievances.

She announced that the financial aid under BISP had been increased from rupees,10,500 to rupees 13,500, alongside enhancements in development projects and educational scholarships.

Taking notice of complaints from the public, she reprimanded staff for negligence and warned of strict action against corruption and inefficiency. She urged officials to perform their duties with honesty and dedication.

Describing BISP as one of the country’s most significant social welfare initiatives, she highlighted that millions of deserving women and families benefit from the program. She also revealed that a mobile survey would soon be launched to extend support to women in remote and underprivileged areas of Khyber district.
