LANDIKOTAL: Police in Landikotal successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle crystal meth (Ice) and recovered 3 kilograms of the drug from the hidden cavities of a vehicle, police said on Monday.
Additional Station House Officer Azmat Wali Shinwari told this scribe that suspects involved in the crime were arrested during the operation.
He said following the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal, the anti-narcotics campaign continued to achieve significant results.
He said police raided the Zerrai checkpost, where a suspicious car bearing registration number D2402 was stopped. He said they searched the vehicle and recovered 3 kilograms of ice drug concealed in secret compartments of the car.
SHO said one person identified as Noor Khan, son of Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Afghanistan, and Salman Khan, son of Aftab Alam, a resident of Wali Baigkhel in Landikotal have been taken into custody. The accused have been transferred to Landikotal police station for further investigation.
