Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Ambassadors of Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and the Acting Ambassador of France met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) here on Thursday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Germany’s Ambassador Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, Italy’s Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese, Netherlands’ Ambassador Willem Wouter Plomp, and France’s acting Ambassador Yves Manville met the COAS at the General Headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS said, “Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan”, adding a stable and prosperous Afghanistan at peace with itself and its neighbors was in Pakistan’s national interest.
The COAS also said Pakistan values its relations with EU countries and we earnestly look forward to enhancing mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interests.
Pakistan has no favorites in the ongoing conflict and our sole desire is to help to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan, he added.
