ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office spokesperson Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Monday said Pakistan has no favorites in Afghanistan and our policy is that whoever the people of Afghanistan choose, Pakistan will have the best relationship with them.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri was responding to media queries, that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in the Afghan peace process.
He said certain sections have “misquoted and twisted” the recent remarks by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi over the need for “peace and stability in Afghanistan through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned process.”
Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri clarified that the foreign minister had “clearly spoken” about the consensus among the international community, the regional players, and the Afghans themselves “against the menace of terrorism”.
Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said all energies should be focused on finding an inclusive, broad-based, and comprehensive political settlement to the conflict in Afghanistan.
