Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi paid a surprise late-night visit to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar, where citizens voiced serious complaints against the hospital administration.

Patients and attendants complained that people were suffering due to poor management, alleging that hospital staff remained busy using mobile phones during duty hours instead of attending to patients.

Taking serious notice of the situation, the chief minister expressed strong displeasure and announced a complete ban on the use of mobile phones during duty hours by hospital staff, government school teachers, and all government employees across the province.

He said that the complaints cell is being reactivated and urged citizens to submit their complaints, assuring them that the government would take action accordingly.

Chief Minister Suhail Afridi also appealed to the public to record videos of any government employee found using a mobile phone during duty hours and send them directly to the relevant authorities so that immediate action can be taken.

The chief minister emphasized that negligence in public service would not be tolerated and warned that strict disciplinary measures would be enforced to ensure accountability and improved service delivery.
