PESHAWAR: Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a journalist in Dera Ismail Khan, sources said Tuesday.
The assailants, riding a bike, barged into the house of Qais Javed in Madina Colony in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.the attackers escaped after the incident, the source said.
Qais was shot in his belly and succumbed while on way to the hospital.
Qais Javed belonged to a minority community.
Qais worked as a cameraman for Geo News for 10 years and nowadays he was working on his own web channel Ehad Nama.
FIR had been registered against unidentified persons and no arrests had been made so far. Investigations were underway to determine the motive behind the killing, sources added.
