TANK: At least five police personnel were martyred and several others injured when a bomb blast targeted a police vehicle in the Gomal area of Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, officials said.
According to police sources, the attack was carried out by militants and resulted in the martyrdom of five officers, including an Additional Station House Officer (SHO). The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, where some were reported to be in critical condition.
The police vehicle was completely destroyed in the explosion.
The blast caused widespread panic in the area, prompting authorities to cordon off the site immediately.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Following the incident, police launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to trace and arrest those involved.
Senior police officials reached the spot to assess the situation, while further investigations into the incident were underway.
