Bannu: A Frontier Corps (FC) post in the Takhti Khel area of Baka Khel, Bannu district, was targeted in a drone attack on [insert date], resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to three others.
The assault, reportedly carried out using a quadcopter by suspected militants, claimed the life of soldier Mina Bacha. The injured personnel — Lance Naik Syedullah, Sepoy Noor Muhammad, and Sepoy Nooruddin — were immediately evacuated to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
In response to the attack, security forces launched an intensive search operation aimed at locating and apprehending those responsible.
According to security sources, the Takhti Khel FC post has been subjected to more than a dozen terrorist attacks to date, with over five involving unmanned aerial vehicles, highlighting an escalating threat posed by drone strikes in the region.
Separately, joint operations by police and security forces are ongoing in Bannu’s Hovid area, targeting terrorist elements based on actionable intelligence. These efforts aim to dismantle militant networks and restore lasting peace and stability.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to strengthening counter-terrorism measures to ensure the safety of local communities and maintain law and order.
