Death Toll Rises to 103 as Kurram Violence Continues

SADDA: Sectarian clashes in Kurram district have continued for the sixth consecutive day, with the death toll rising to 103 and 140 people injured, the district remains embroiled in deadly tribal clashes.

According to sources, One of the injured in the November 21 convoy ambush succumbed to their injuries, raising the death toll from the attack to 52.
Over the past week, the unrest has escalated, contributing to the current grim toll.
Mobile and internet services remain suspended in the district, and educational institutions remain closed. Traffic on the main highway and the Pak-Afghan Kharlachi border has also been stopped.
The government’s efforts to restore peace in the region have so far proven futile.
A jirga was convened at the Commissioner House in Kohat, bringing together tribal elders and senior government officials, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and Kohat Commissioner. The meeting focused on implementing a ceasefire and restoring peace in the conflict-hit region.
Efforts to resolve the crisis are ongoing, but the situation remains tense, with locals facing immense hardships amid the unrest.
