Command & Control Centre In Khyber Will Help Maintain Security: IGKP

LANDI KOTAL: To keep maintain the security situation in district Khyber, the first ever command and control centre was inaugurated in Jamrud tehsil of district Khyber on Tuesday.

Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police(IGP) Akhar Hayat Khan and Capital City Police(CCPO)Sayed Ishfaq Anwar formally inaugurated the newly established command and control centre.

The command and control centre would monitor all the CCTV cameras installed on all entry and exit routes in the Khyber district to protect the lives and properties of citizens.

Speaking on the occasion district police officer Salim Abbas Kalachi said that they were completely implementing the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vision to provide the best possible protected environment to the public. He said they have installed a large number of CCTV cameras in Bazaars and other sensitive locations.
DPO Khyber briefed IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and CCPO at the command and control centre established in Traffic headquarters in Shakas in Jamrud. DPO Khyber said the command and control centre would operate round the clock where 128 CCTV cameras installed in police stations, police check posts, DPO office and traffic headquarters are contacted by the command and control centre via Internet service.

Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Akhtar Hayat Khan said that the establishment of a command and control centre would help reduce crimes and would help police and law enforcement agencies to reach the hands behind the crimes. He said the CCTV cameras would also help in running the flow of traffic in district Khyber.

Akhtar Hayat Khan said it was a good step taken in district Khyber which was the first-ever command and control centre in newly merged Tribal districts. He issued directives to police officials concerned to also establish command and control centres in the rest of the tribal districts so that law and order could be maintained properly.

Later, the IGP also inaugurated a Bara police station and a women’s information disk in district Khyber.

Akhtar Hayat Khan said that women police would be posted in all police stations in the Khyber district where they could easily address women’s issues. He said the police department would provide all necessary equipment and tools for best policing so that the safety of the general public could be ensured.
