Gunmen Shot Dead Two Residents In District Khyber

DISTRICT KHYBER: In the first incident, unknown gunmen shot dead a resident in Landikotal bazaar and fled from the scene, police said on Monday.

Additional Station House Officer Azmat Wali Shinwari and assistant subinspector Ayaz Khan Shinwari told this scribe that an unidentified man entered a hotel owned by the deceased and fired bullets with a rifle gun. They said the owner of the hotel identified as Rahmat, was seriously injured. He was rushed to the district Headquarters hospital in Landikotal but could not be survived. As the incident happened police led by additional SHO Azmat Wali Shinwari rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. He said they had launched a search operation within limits and would soon arrest the killer. Police officer Ayaz said they were working on the case and soon FIR would be registered. However, till filing this report no arrest was made. Police said the reason behind the killing of the man was a family dispute.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot dead a young man Ghani Khan, who was kidnapped two days before.

A local journalist said Ghani Afridi was a poor man running a shop in Bara. He said according to his family they had no enmity with anyone. The journalist confirmed that the bullet-riddled body had been dumped in a deserted place in Bara.
Residents asked the authorities to investigate the targeted killing happening in district Khyber and provide peace and protection to citizens.
