DISTRICT KHYBER: On the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, district Khyber education officials launched admission campaigns in all three tehsils to enroll out-of-school children in state-run schools.
In this connection, a seminar was arranged at the government high school Hashimabad in Jamrud on Thursday.
A large number of teachers and non-teaching staff including government primary schools’ head teachers students, elders, headmasters and education department officials attended the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion government high school Hashimabad principal Abdur Rehman Afridi said that 22.8 million children were out of school in Pakistan. He said teachers should work hard to motivate children in the vicinity to encourage parents to enroll their children in schools. He said teachers should focus on practical teaching so that they could learn easily. He said the best way to use Student Learning Outcomes(SLOs)methodology which is used worldwide.
“To increase education ratio and ensure best teaching performance the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa handed over 180 schools to the private sector in eight districts”, Abdur Rehman said.
He added that gradually all the state schools would be privatized in the best interest of the public.
He said the government has provided all required facilities in the schools to motivate children to happily attend classes. He said they would also arrange awareness walks, seminars and door-to-door admission campaigns so that they could achieve the enrollment target set for the coming educational session starting the coming August.
Wajid Khan Afridi, Noor Rehman and Haroon Afridi also spoke on the occasion.
