LANDIKOTAL: District Education Officer (DEO) Khyber Misri Khan conducted surprise visits to several government primary schools in the district to inspect educational activities, staff attendance and the overall condition of school facilities, the official said on Friday.

Assistant Subdivisional District Education Officer Wajid Muhammad told The News that a surprise visit team headed by Misri Khan inspected several government-run schools in Khyber district. He said they inspected Government Primary School Gul Mat Khan, Tuda Mela; Government Primary School Fazal Ahmad Killay; Government Primary School Ali Masjid; and Government Primary and High School Shagai.

Education department officials reviewed cleanliness, discipline, student attendance, the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, and the ongoing teaching and learning process.

Wajid said during the inspection of Government Primary School Shagai, the DEO expressed dissatisfaction over the poor state of cleanliness and discipline. He said, as a result, the DEO issued a show-cause notice to the school’s head teacher, Alam Khan, for failing to maintain the required standards.

Similarly, he said, the watchmen of Government Primary School Gul Mat Khan, Killay Tuda Mela and Government Primary School Shagai were also issued notices over alleged negligence in performing their duties.

DEO Misri Khan issued strict directives that no compromise would be made on improving the quality of education, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring discipline in government schools.

He also warned that strict action would be taken against teachers and other staff members found negligent in their responsibilities.

The DEO said surprise inspections would continue to ensure better educational standards, staff accountability and a conducive learning environment in government schools across Khyber district.
