KHYBER: At least two children were injured when a mortar shell struck a house near Zarmeen Chowk in the remote Akakhel area of Tirah Valley in the district Khyber, local sources said.
A mortar shell, fired from an unknown location, struck a house in Tirah valley, as results two minor children receiving injuries. As the incident happened, residents rushed to the incident site and rescued the injured children and shifted them to a nearby health facility.
Residents expressed deep concern over the incident, saying civilians continue to suffer due to the ongoing mortar attacks, target killings, extortion and firing incidents. They demanded protection to live peacefully in their ancestral Tirah valley.
