BAJAUR: A bomb attack targeted the residence of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former provincial assembly candidate Maulana Waheed Gul late last night in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
No casualties were reported, but the blast caused significant damage to the house, an adjoining hujra, and a vehicle.
Police said the explosive device was planted near the main gate of the hujra. Maulana Waheed Gul was not at home at the time of the explosion and remained unharmed.
District Police Officer Waqas Rafiq said initial investigations indicate the use of an improvised explosive device. Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
