TORKHAM: Movement via the Torkham border suspended for passengers for three days due to the shifting of Federal Investigation Agency(FIA) offices from one place to another within the Torkham border town, officials said on Friday.
Additional director FIA Torkham Yasar Arafat told this scribe that on the directions federal government they are relocating their offices to the new office building in Torkham.
He said they would not process passengers’ documents from Friday to Sunday due to the shifting offices. He said within these three days the passenger’s clearance from Afghanistan would remain suspended till Sunday. He said they were trying their best to shift the equipment as soon as possible so that they could resume passengers’ movement.
Yasara Arafat said technical teams from Islamabad and Peshawar reached Torkham to assist them in quick shifting and complete equipment installation on time.
The official urged those who want to travel across the border not to visit Torkham until they announce the reopening of the border. He said the movement of trucks carrying goods would not be suspended in these three days.
