PESHAWAR: Ayub Afridi, a cousin of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, has alleged that MPA Jalal Khan is not a Pakistani citizen but an Afghan national belonging to the Kochi tribe, and has called on state institutions to investigate his identity and take action over his alleged criminal activities.
Ayub Afridi, accompanied by his cousins, has levelled serious allegations against Jalal Khan, the member of the provincial assembly on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League(N), claiming that he is not a Pakistani national but an Afghan belonging to the Kochi tribe. In a press statement, they asserted that Jalal Khan’s real name is different from the one he uses in Pakistan and that he allegedly obtained a Mohmand district national identity card through fraudulent means.
They further claimed that Jalal Khan has a long criminal history, stating that multiple FIRs have been registered against him in various police stations across Peshawar and Islamabad.
According to Ayub Afridi, Jalal has been imprisoned several times in cases related to drug trafficking and smuggling.
The Chief Minister’s cousins urged Pakistani authorities to conduct a thorough verification of Jalal Khan’s and his family members’ records in the NADRA database. They demanded strict legal action against him, accusing him of being involved in serious criminal offences.
They emphasized that such cases not only undermine the country’s legal system but also pose a threat to national security, calling on relevant institutions to ensure accountability and transparency in the identity verification process.
