PESHAWAR: Regi Model Town affectees arranged a protest demonstration at the front of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) office in Hayatabad to force the authorities to find a solution for the affectees of Regi Model Town. A large number of women, children, and plot allottees participated in the protest.

Despite the large number of women and elderly men, leaders of the Regi Model Town Affectees Association, including President Dr. Nasrullah Jan Wazir, Vice President Dr. Zahir Shah and General Secretary Muhammad Haroon Kamal, along with other office-bearers, demanded immediate action from Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi Provincial Minister for Local Government Mian Khan Afridi, Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mahsud, and Director General PDA Zubair Niazi.
The protesters urged the authorities to resolve their long-pending issue, which they said has remained unresolved for the past 35 years.

They expressed frustration over continuous delays and what they termed as government negligence in granting ownership rights of their allotted plots.
The association also announced that if their demands are not addressed promptly, they will stage a permanent sit-in outside the PDA office starting April 15.
The participants criticized the government’s attitude, stating that decades of waiting for rightful ownership have only resulted in repeated delays, which they said is unacceptable.
