Landmine Explosion Injures Two Kids In Waziristan

MIRNSHAH: At least two children were wounded when a landmine exploded in Mirnshah a tehsil in North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Friday.

According to sources, 10-year-old Abdullah son of Jalat Khan and 10-year-old  Najibullah son of Saeed Muhammad Were playing near the Miranshah accountant’s office when the landmine exploded and both the children were critically injured.
Police and rescue teams shifted the injured children to Bannu Hospital.
Landmines have been scattered throughout Fata and incidents of landmines blasts have become a routine matter. After repatriation, tribes of North Waziristan have been faced with the menace of landmines that have been taking their lives and crippling them.
Children are particularly at risk from unexploded ordnance and landmines, which are small enough to pick up or kick around, and which they can mistake for toys or objects of value.
