Khyber Residents Voiced for Lawlessness

DISTRICT KHYBER: Expressing concern over the worsening law and order, the office-bearers of the Bara Siyasi Ittehad asked the police and law enforcement agencies to stop harassing, target killings, extorting the people or else they would stage a protest and establish sit-in camps in various places.

Speaking at a press conference here in Bara Siyasi Ittehad President Shah Faisal said businessmen, political and social figures were receiving extortion calls in Bara. He said grenade attacks were also carried out on their homes. They said all walks of life are being terrorised and threatened for life and property. They said a number of rich people and journalists fled from district Khyber to save their lives. He said a number of Khyber district residents’ Houses were also attacked in Peshawar where their life is also in danger.

Shah Faisal said 300 extortion cases were registered in Police Stations, adding that the poor law and order had affected business activities in Khyber. He asked the police authorities and other concerned authorities to make public the report of a probe into the Shalobar Naugzi Baba incident.
It may be added here in a recent incident two policemen were redheaded and arrested when they attacked the houses of an elected representative house with hand grenades which also injured and captured residents and handed them to police. The arrested police were working for a gang that forced people to pay them ransom.
