FIA Busted Human Trafficker At Pak-Afghan Border

LANDIKOTAL: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration foiled a major passport smuggling attempt at Torkham border and arrested a human trafficker and recovered 25 passports from his possession, officials said on Tuesday.

According to FIA officials, the accused, identified as Subhanullah from Jalalabad province in Afghanistan, was stopped at Torkham and searched his belongings. The officials said they recovered c25 Afghan passports from his possession. The passports, which bore Tajikistan visas, had been hidden inside soft drink cans.

Following initial interrogation, the arrested man was handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking circle in Peshawar for further investigation.
The officials said that it was believed that the arrested person was a human trafficker and was attempting to smuggle passports for human trafficking.
