Crackdown against narcotics, 5kg heroin seized in Jamrud

LANDIKOTAL: Jamrud police on Monday continued to crack down against narcotics dealers and seized a bulk of heroin and other contraband in different areas of Jamrud tehsil in district Khyber, officials said.

District Police Officer of Khyber Wasim Riaz told The News that on the directives CCPO Peshawar Abbas Ahsan they have started a crackdown against dealers in district Khyber. He said so far they have seized a bulk of narcotics and arrested dozens of drug-addicted persons and drug traffickers.

He said the crackdown against drug mafias would be continued till they do not arrest the last drug dealer.

“Today in two raids they recovered five kilograms each of heroin and chemicals used in heroin making”, said DPO. He added that two drug traffickers identified as Khairullah and Noor Muhammad were also arrested. He said the arrested persons were Afghan nationals and investigation started from them.

The police official said Jamrud police also seized two hundred grams of ICE drug in Wazirdand area of Jamrud and arrested Sher Ghani, an Afghan national.

Wasim Riaz their efforts were aimed to save youth from using drugs and discourage drug dealers and traffickers to clean society from all kinds of evils. He said they were planning to put hands on the big hands allegedly involved in drug dealing in district Khyber.
