Court Hands Life Term To A Landikotal Resident

LANDIKOTAL: Court in district Khyber on Thursday sentenced Shad Khan to life imprisonment after prosecutors proved he murdered a Landikotal resident in the main Landikotal bazaar over personal enmity.

The decision came out of several sessions held in the Khyber court, convicting Shad Khan in a significant murder case. The court awarded him life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 million. The court ruled that the fine must be paid to the heirs of the deceased, Rahmat and in case of non-payment, the convict will face an additional two years in prison.

Prosecutors Malik Sajidullah Advocate and Yar Rehman Afridi Advocate, lawyers of the Peshawar High Court, represented the state and successfully established the charges through strong evidence and witness statements.

According to case details, Shad Khan was accused of shooting and killing Rahmat in Landikotal bazaar due to personal rivalry. Police promptly registered a case under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and later submitted the challan to the court.

The court also sentenced Shad Khan to an additional three years under section 15-AA for possessing illegal weapons. Following the announcement of the verdict, police shifted the convict to jail under strict security.
