TORONTO: Famous Pashto singer Qamar Gulla passed away after a protracted illness in Hospital in Toronto today Friday.
Qamar Gulla was born on January 21, 1952, in Nangarhar, Afghanistan. She moved to Peshawar, Pakistan, and then to Canada.
She sang hundreds of famous Pashto songs during her long career on Afghanistan’s national television, radio, and Pakistani TV and radio. Afghan Network for Social Service Canada (NGO), in a Facebook post, has expressed her condolences to the families and relatives of Qamar Gulla.
