RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has dismissed rumours of martial law being imposed in Pakistan. This follows a period of political unrest in the country, which began with the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and resulted in attacks on army installations.

In a conversation with a private news channel, the DG ISPR said, the Army remains united and will continue to remain so under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, in spite of any internal or external attempts to propagate division.
He further stated that the army would continue to remain united, undeterred by any internal or external attempts at propaganda.
The DG ISPR affirmed that the military leadership, including the Army Chief, holds a firm belief in democracy and stands in full support of it.
As per the DG ISPR, the Pakistan Army has outrightly rejected any speculations surrounding the imposition of martial law in the country, terming them as baseless and unfounded rumours.
He further added that there is no possibility of martial law being imposed, and such claims are devoid of any truth.
