Police Officer receives life threats, his home attacked in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Unknown persons attacked the house of an additional Station House Officer(SHO) of Landikotal police station with a hand grenade, however, no casualty was reported, Police said on Friday.

Additional SHO Azmat Wali told The News that the incident happened around 10:45 p.m. Thursday. He said the main door of his house received damage. He said no one was around at the time of the incident, and no human casualties occurred.

Azmat Wali Shinwari said they have collected evidence from the sight and started an investigation.
He said FIR has been registered against unknown terrorists and work on geofencing began to reach the hands behind the attack.

When asked about the background of the incident, inspector Azmat Wali Shinwari told this scribe that he was receiving phone calls from Afghanistan and Pakistan threatening him to pay them Rs, five million and resign from the police job. He said terrorists both from Afghanistan and Pakistan were contacting him via WhatsApp and threatening him with dire consequences if their demands were not accepted.

“I am honest with my job and my country and will not bow down against anyone who wants me to surrender before them”, said the police officer Azmat Wali Shinwari. He added that soon they would reach to the hands behind the crime.
