WAZIRISTAN: Pakistan’s security forces have foiled a major infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border, killing 30 militants allegedly backed by India, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
The attempted breach occurred during the night of July 1-2 in the Hasan Khel area of North Waziristan. The ISPR reported that intelligence and surveillance systems detected the movement of militants associated with the group Fitna al-Khawarij. Swift and decisive action by security personnel resulted in the elimination of all infiltrators.
A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants, confirming the scale and seriousness of the threat. The ISPR labelled the militants as “India-sponsored Khawarij” and stated that the attempt was averted due to the high alertness and operational readiness of the armed forces.
The military further called on the Afghan authorities to prevent the use of Afghan territory for launching hostile activities against Pakistan. The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to defending the nation’s frontiers and eradicating cross-border terrorism in all its forms.
