Narcotics Recovered From Women at Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL: Custom officials foiled a bid to smuggle Ice drugs at the Torkham border and arrested the smugglers, officials said on Monday.

Deputy Director of Customs Enforcement Ms. Saiqa Abbas told Fata Voice News Agency that two women were stopped at St Torkham border crossing coming from Afghanistan and searched. She said they recovered six kilograms of Ice drugs from their possessions. She said the worth of the seized narcotics in the open market is 70 million rupees. She said the narcotics were concealed in ghee tins to smuggle it from Afghanistan to Pakistan.

Saiqa Abbs said in the last few months they have seized billions of rupees in narcotics at the Torkham border.
Civil society and residents appreciated the customs officials and said that Ice and other drugs have destroyed the social fabric of the society in Pakistan. They said those black sheep (smugglers) behind the narcotics smuggling and dealing must be brought to justice.
