Landikotal journalist, writers clinch excellence awards

LANDIKOTAL: Prominent writers and literary figures from Landikotal and the rest of Pakistan were honoured at the Fourth Excellence Awards ceremony organized by Karvan Hawa at the auditorium of Khana Farhang Iran on Sunday.

The event celebrated literary contributions by presenting awards named after renowned poets and writers of the region.

Eminent writer Aksi Mufti graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Mushtaq Shabab and the director of Khana Farhang Iran, Hossein Chaqomi, attended as guests of honour. The ceremony was presided over by literary scholar Dr.Nazir Tabassum.

Karvan Hawa chairperson Bushra Farrukh, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the significance of recognizing literary figures and said the awards were aimed at remembering legendary personalities and inspiring the younger generation through their legacy.

Awards were distributed by Aksi Mufti, Mushtaq Shabab, Hossein Chaqomi, Dr.Nazir Tabassum and Bushra Farrukh among a diverse group of writers from various cities.

The Lala Ameer Siddiqui award was awarded to Atiq Ahmed Siddiqui, Nayyar Sarhadi and Sher Alam Shinwari.

The Ahmed Faraz Award was presented to Professor Shujaat Ali Rahi of Kohat, Shahid Zaman and Dr. Ali Kamil Qazilbash of Quetta.
The Khater Ghaznavi award went to Fauzia Taj of Haripur, Arham Rohan of Islamabad and Professor Malik Nasir Dawood of Abbottabad.
The Mohsin Ehsan Award was given to Dr.Aamir Sohail of Abbottabad, Dr.Haroon Rashid of Sargodha and Ayesha Masood Malik of Islamabad.
Recipients of the Ghulam Muhammad Qaser award included Salma Qaser of Islamabad, Syed Ali Tanha of Layyah and Professor Jahan Zeb Shoor.
The Parishan Khattak award was awarded to Dr.Ahmed Ali Ijaz and Zahida Tanha.
The Ahmed Ali Sain award went to Syed Mahmood Gilani and Professor Sabih Ahmed.
The Khushhal Khan Khattak award was presented to Dr.Gulzar Jalal and Dr.Hanif Rasool of Karak.
Winners of the Hassan Bin Thabit Award included Professor Abdul Majeed Chatha of Lahore, Noreen Talat Aruba based in the US, Tahir Sultani of Karachi and Muhammad Yaqub Firdousi of Sargodha.
The Fatima Jinnah award was given to Lahore’s Farah Javed, Shaheen Qureshi, Nilofar Sami and Dr. Seema Shafi.
The Masood Anwar Shafqi award was conferred upon Salma Sarfaraz, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, and Khawaja Yawar Naseer.

In addition, Karvan Hawa special awards were presented to Dr.Shaheen Umar, Dr.Basmina Siraj, Dr.Khalid Mufti, Maryam Bibi, Noshaba Khan, Farah Asad, Rubina Siddiqui and Malik Arshad Hussain for their outstanding contributions.

In his address, Aksi Mufti urged the government to support literary organizations like Karvan Hawa, emphasizing that such platforms play a vital role in preserving and promoting literature and culture in the region.

Director Khana Farhang Iran, Hossein Chaqomi, lauded the efforts of Karvan Hawa and pledged full cooperation for the promotion of literary activities. Other speakers, including Mushtaq Shabab, Dr.Nazir Tabassum, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, Nayyar Sarhadi and Dr.
Gulzar Jalal also commended the forum’s ongoing literary services.
