KHYBER: Under the special directives of DPO Khyber, Salim Abbas Kulachi, a major crackdown has been initiated against car lifters in Khyber and arrested notorious car-lifters on Thursday.
Talking to this scribe anti-car lifting cell head inspector Abid Khan Afridi said that in a significant operation, the Anti-Car Lifting Cell in Khyber District has arrested a notorious member of an international car-lifting gang identified as Malik Hussain Shinwari, son of Zain Shah, a resident of Landikotal in district Khyber.
He said the operation was led by Zahidullah Afridi, in charge of the Anti-Car Lifting Cell and assistant In-charge Abdul Waheed. He said Malik Hussain Shinwari, infamous for car lifting and receiving stolen vehicles, was apprehended red-handed.
During the operation, he said a stolen vehicle a 1998 model Corolla, was also recovered on the spot which had been stolen from Rawalpindi. He said preliminary interrogation of the suspect led to the recovery of four more vehicles, including two Alto cars, one 1986 Corolla and one Toyota motorcar.
Inspector Abid Khan Afridi said Khyber District Police have intensified operations against car theft, aiming to effectively curb vehicle thefts in the region.
