12 Security Personnel Martyred In Bannu Suicide Attack: ISPR

BANNU: Twelve security personnel embraced martyrdom during a militant attack on the Mali Khel checkpost in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack on a joint check post in the Bannu district on 19 November 2024 resulted in the martyrdom of 12 Pakistani soldiers, including 10 from the security forces and two from the Frontier Constabulary.

The devastating explosion claimed the lives of 12 brave personnel. The martyrs include Subedar Imran Ahmed Farooqi from Gujranwala, Havaldar Muhammad Javed Iqbal from Sargodha, Naik Tahmas Ahmed from Abbottabad, Naik Basit Fareed from Haripur, Sepoy Safdar Ali from Barkhan, Sepoy Asad Basheer from Kohlu, Sepoy Ejaz Hussain from Dera Ghazi Khan, Sepoy Atif Khan from Mianwali, Sepoy Amanullah from Karak, and Sepoy Shah Zaman from Dir.

During the ensuing exchange of fire, six of the attackers were killed, ISPR said,
Following the attack, a sanitization operation was launched in the area to neutralize the remaining perpetrators, ISPR said.

Pakistan’s military vowed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice and reiterated its commitment to eliminating terrorism from the region.
“Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the statement added.
